Millions

Heads up, statisticians; another Nintendo milestone for ya. At some undisclosed time on Thursday morning, the two millionth unique user logged into the Nintendo Wi-Fi system.

Since Nintendo loves to put big numbers in perspective, their press release points out that this number is more than the population of fifteen of the United States...which, of course, is sort of silly, seeing as how the tally is coming from players worldwide. Still, it's an impressive number, and perhaps this added confidence in online gaming will give Nintendo the shove it needs to back it unconditionally for the upcoming Wii.
Upcoming games utilizing the Nintendo Wi-Fi feature? Some big ones: Final Fantasy III, Star Fox: Command, Yoshi's Island 2, you name it. Nintendo WFC is here to stay.

Picked up StarFoxCommand last night. Very cool game. Only played about an hour into the single player mode so far, haven't been able to try the wi-fi or multiplayer. Hopefully tonight I can check both out.

As you have probably read, the flight controls are completely with the stylus (touchpad). Either you love this or you hate this. Most people have said Nintendo should have given you the option of touchpad OR D-pad. I agree with this. However, the stylus/touchpad does give you a great amount of control over flying your arwing.

Shooting your lasers are done using ANY of the remaining buttons: any direction on the D-pad, or any of the A B Y X or L and R.

First impressions of the game: I like it a lot so far. Single player is great, and with 9 (yep, count 'em, that's NINE!) different endings, re-playability is HUGE. I tried out multiplayer and wifi connection last night at a friend's house, and wasn't that impressed. I think a lack of options here is what turned me off. You can't seem to choose your own options such a time limit, frag amounts, etc... you are stuck with what Nintendo pre defines.

Strange how some folks online are really liking the on-line mode. Many people say it's what makes the game worth purchasing.
